⚽ 7-A-SIDE SUMMER FOOTBALL RULES - *CHANGED FROM LAST YEARS

1. GAME FORMAT

• 7 players per team, including a goalkeeper.
• Rolling substitutions permitted.
• 2 x 20-minute halves with a 3-minute half-time break.
• Teams must be ready at their allocated kick-off time.

2. GOALKEEPER & GOAL AREA

• The goalkeeper can leave the goal area and play anywhere on the field.
• All players are permitted to enter the goal area during play.
• If the goalkeeper picks the ball up in the goal area, there are no drop-kicks or punts, ball can be thrown from hand or passed out from feet.
• During a goal kick, all players must remain outside the goal area until the ball is in play.

3. OFFSIDE

• No offside rule.

4. RESTARTS

• Goal kicks: Taken by the goalkeeper. All players must remain outside the goal area until the ball is in play.
• Sideline balls are restarted with a kick-in.
• Corners are taken from the corner.

5. FREE KICKS & FOULS

• Opponents must be 2 metres away from the ball.
• Slide tackling is not permitted.
• First slide-tackle offence = warning.
• Second offence = free kick.
• Dangerous, reckless or aggressive play may result in further action at the referee's discretion.

6. PENALTIES

• Penalties are taken from 2 metres outside the goal area.

7. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY – SENIOR GRADES

• Senior grades only: A maximum of 2 non-listed players may play throughout the tournament when registered players are unavailable.
• For Final Night, a maximum of 2 approved non-listed players may play.

8. POINTS

• Win: 3 points | Draw: 1 point | Loss: 0 points

9. FINAL NIGHT

• Match-ups are based on competition standings: 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th, 5th v 6th, etc.
• Draw after normal time = no extra time.
• Penalty shootout: 3 penalties per team, followed by sudden death if still level.

10. COMPETITION

• Fixtures, grades and kick-off times are subject to registrations.
• The organiser reserves the right to make changes where necessary to ensure a safe and competitive competition.
• Respect the referee, opposition, teammates and venue. Abusive or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.

⚽ 5-A-SIDE SUMMER FOOTBALL RULES

No penalties, no offsides, retreating line halfway. Same rules as winter football.
