U17s Western Springs Tournament

Our U17s team finished 9th out of 24 teams in the U17s Western Springs Tournament, which saw us play teams from around New Zealand. We finished 3rd in our pool which put us into the plate round. First up we had Cashmere Technical which we won 1-0 with a fancy footed goal from Ade Tesfaw. Our next game was against Christchurch United who were a strong team and played some very nice football. At full-time the score was 0-0 ...penalty time!

Our goalie Fin Race saved the first penalty from Christchurch, however the referee hadn't blown his whistle so Christchurch got to retake the shot, and nailed it second time round. Fin then went onto save another pen and then Christchurch shot wide giving us the win and taking us to the finals to face Melville United.

We got on the score board very quickly, 3 goals in 20 minutes! everything just clicked for the Bay. Final score 4-1. Goal scorers Ade Tesfaw (3) and Louis Busson (1).
